Check-In Information
Airport Check-in
If you are checking-in at the airport for an Air India domestic flight, you
need to report at least 90 minutes before the flight departure.
The check-in counter closes 30 minutes prior to the departure
time for all class passengers. If your domestic flight is
departing from an International terminal, the check-in counter
will close 1 hour prior to the departure of your flight.
Internet Check-in
Internet check-in facility is available on all
Air India domestic flights. This facility allows you to choose your seat online on
any Indian Airlines flight. If you hold a confirmed ticket, you can check-in up to
a day in advance of your departure and choose your seat online. You must
check-in not later than up to 2 hours prior to your departure. Once you have
checked-in online, you have to report for the security check 30 minutes before
departure. You need to carry a photo ID with you when you report for the
security check.
Tele Check-in facility is available for Indian Airlines Executive Class
(J Class) passengers and Indian Flying Returns program (FPP)
members flying from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore &
Hyderabad. If you have a confirmed ticket, and are traveling
with hand baggage only, you can Tele check-in for the next day
too. Call the Indian Toll Free number at 1800 - 180 -1407 to
avail this facility.
City
Check-in
You can also check-in at Indian Airlines' city offices up to a day in
advance. If you are traveling with hand baggage only, you need
to report to the airport check-in counter 30 minutes before the
departure time. If you have additional check-in baggage, you
need to report 90 minutes in advance at the airport counter.
City check-in facility is only available at Delhi, Mumbai,
Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore & Hyderabad.
Return Check-in
If you are returning on the same day or the next day on an
Indian Airlines flight, you can collect your return boarding pass from
your originating airport. If you are carrying hand baggage only,
you need to report to the airport 30 minutes prior to departure
of your return flight. If you are carrying additional check-in
baggage, you need to report 90 minutes prior to the departure of
the return flight. Return check-in facility is only available at
Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore & Hyderabad.
Through Check-in
If you have a connecting onward Indian Airlines flight,
you can board the onward flight without checking-in again. Your baggage will
also be through checked-in to the connecting flight. This facility is available
on all Indian flights from all destinations except Kochi, Agatti and Gaya. The
connecting flight should be a minimum 45 minutes after your arrival.
