Check-In Information

Airport Check-in

If you are checking-in at the airport for an Air India international flight, you need to report at least 3 hours before the flight departure.

First Class and Executive Class passengers can check-in up to 2 hours before departure. The check-in counter closes 1 hour prior to the departure time for all class passengers.

Internet Check-in


Internet check-in facility is currently available only on Air India flights departing from Mumbai. This facility allows you to choose your seat and print your boarding pass online on any Air India flight. If you hold a confirmed ticket, you can check-in up to a 3 days in advance of your departure and choose your seat online. You must E-check-in not later than up to 4 hours prior to your departure. Once you have checked-in online, you have to report for the security check 1 hour before departure. You must also carry a print of the E-Check-in confirmation slip. You need to carry a photo ID with you when you report for the security check.

Although you cannot e-check-in and print boarding passes for flights other than from Mumbai, you can specify your seat preference on all Air India flights. To specify your seat preference on any Air India flight, follow this link:

Tele Check-in

Tele Check-in facility is available for Air India's  Executive Class passengers and Air India's Flying Returns program (FPP) members flying from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore & Hyderabad. If you have a confirmed ticket, and are traveling with hand baggage only, you can Tele check-in for the next day too. Call the Air India Toll Free number at 1800 - 180 -1407 to avail this facility.

 

City Check-in

You can also check-in at Air India's city offices up to a day in advance. If you are traveling with hand baggage only, you need to report to the airport check-in counter 1 hour before the departure time. If you have additional check-in baggage, you need to report 2 hours in advance at the airport counter. City check-in facility is only available at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore & Hyderabad.
